Ledger

Ledger

Ledger is a very special boy! This handsome 3 year old has been at our high-intake county animal shelter for 85 days. We noticed "high anxiety" behavior after he had been at the shelter for a couple of weeks. He was at risk of euthanasia due to the behavior. However, the shelter staff believed he deserved further assessment and some extra training. We discovered that he was a very very smart boy who caught on to training exercises quickly. There is nothing Ledger loves more than playing fetch. He is obsessed with it. Shelter staff recognized that Ledger had a really good chance of being a working dog. He has played great with multiple other dogs at the shelter. Ledger's only quirk is he has some fear of men that cause him to bark and show behaviors that some may think are scary. However, after further evaluation, we believe this behavior is out of fear and could be trained out of him. Men have been able to break through with Ledger by participating in his favorite game...fetch! Ledger is still at risk of euthanasia, but we are hoping a handler is out there who will fall in love with Ledger and be able to work with him. He passed his "test" with flying colors. We believe in Ledger, and we hope you will too!
