Make the Connection
Shelters throughout the United States and Canada struggle to find homes for high-energy, intense dogs in their care.  These dogs often become destructive in typical home environments where their physical and mental needs aren’t met.  Many of them will be euthanized and countless others will live out their lives in shelters. The qualities making these dogs difficult to adopt may also make them spectacular detection dog recruits.  Detection dogs can be trained to locate hard-to-find wildlife, smuggled elephant tusks, and even the tiniest invasive weed among a mountainside of plants.  The missing piece is a connection between these special dogs and the trainers and organizations who can give them careers and homes which will appreciate their vital energy.  Rescues 2the Rescue is that connection.
